The potential of the Mercedes Benz CLS 63 AMG V8-Biturbo with the added performance package is evident in the performance of the most recent release by Carlsson Autotechnik. While the AMG eight-cylinder engine with a cylinder capacity of 5.461 cm already produces 557 BHP (410 kW) at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 800 Nm at 2,000 rpm, Carlsson engineers’ fine-tuning increased its power to 652 BHP (480 kW). With an engine speed of 2,000 – 4,500 rpm, the maximum torque lies at 1,000 Newton-meters. To maintain the stability of the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7-speed sports gearbox with this power output, the Carlsson engineers installed an additional transmission oil cooling system. This high-torque power increase allows the Carlsson CK63 RS to accelerate from zero to sixty in 4.1 seconds.
