With 918 examples destined to be built, Porsche was always going to have a tougher task of selling all build slots for its 918 Spyder than McLaren and Ferrari have had with their respective flagship supercars. After all, McLaren only offered 375 build slots for its P1 and Ferrari only offered 499 for the LaFerrari, and most of these were already accounted for before the cars were even unveiled.
