Inden Design implanted 21-inch light metal rims (rim stars painted in high-gloss black as well as gloss-lathed beddings) in the curved fenders of the high-performance sports car. The 10.5 and 11.5-inch wide single part product were combined with Continental Sport Contact high-performance tires of the dimensions 265/30R21 (in front) and 295/25R21 (in the rear).

For width, the tuners have built in the Majestic wheel rim, which has just passed all the TÜV inspections with flying colours so making it available from early 2012 in sizes of 20 to 23 inches. On the SL the front wheels are size 11x20 inch (with 3.5 inch outer rims) and the back wheels are a gigantic 13x20 inch (5 inch outer rim). This combination is fitted with Dunlop tyres of sizes 255/30R20 and 305/25R20. Of course, with this wheel and tyre combination, the wheel arches also had to be extended – we’ve used sheet metal to widen them 25 mm up front and 55 mm at the back, on both sides.

The Mercedes-Benz S Type – also known as the 680 S because of its 6.8-litre engine capacity – was launched in 1927 as an evolution of the Mercedes-Benz Model K super sports car. It established the legendary family of heavyweight supercharged cars that included the SS and SSK models from 1928. The cars dominated racing history over the years, but could also be bought as conventional road vehicles. All vehicles in this family had a six-cylinder in-line engine with a supercharger to increase output. Power was also boosted by the dual ignition. Each cylinder had two spark plugs, one fired by a battery ignition and the other by a high-voltage magneto ignition.

It takes over 300 hours of hand craftsmanship in the in-house upholstery shop to re-cover all the interior parts with leather, according to customer specification and combining up to three different colors. The exclusive Carlsson Nappa leather, which complements the exterior body color, is enhanced by contrast stitching and appropriately colored wood.
